The Secretary of State has changed the permit application. After May 10, they will no longer be accepting the previous version. If you were given a permit application prior to April 16, you will need to come in and get a new application. Call for information.

Ready to get started towards your driver’s license?
To get started on your driver’s license, you first need to enroll in the classroom portion of Drivers Ed. To sign up for a class, the student will need to be 15 years old by the time the class ENDS. Click below to see availability for our different programs:
After the first 2 days of class, students are allowed to go get their permit as long as they are 15 years old and then they can begin the Behind the Wheel portion. To complete their course, students must also take either 6 hours of Behind the Wheel lessons with 6 hours of observation, or 8 hours of driving without observation. Please call to find an available time so your instructor can pick you up for your lessons.
Once you have completed class and the Behind the Wheel hours, it’s time for the road test. This is done at an Illinois DMV (list of Illinois DMV locations). If the student is 16 or 17 years old and received a B or better in the class, they can take the road test with Adams.
